Bungie Reveals Recommended Power Level for Destiny 2’s First Raid

Today marks the launch of Destiny 2’s very first raid, ‘Leviathan,’ and if you have been dreading the idea of grinding your character’s power level up to be “raid ready,” Bungie itself recently confirmed that the raid’s recommended power level actually isn’t that high.

According to this recent tweet from Destiny 2’s game director Luke Smith, the Leviathan raid is intended for players in the 260-280 power level range, a noticeable step down from the 280-300 range that some players were anticipating. Now, as any experienced Destiny 2 player probably knows by now, there’s a pretty sizeable gap between 260 and 280 power level (the game’s current “soft cap” of leveling up via gear is about 265 power), but it’s still good to know that 260 players will at least be able to get their foot in the door.

However, hardcore Destiny 2 players tackling the raid early are starting around the 280 Power level and above.

Destiny 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a PC release to follow next month on October 24.
