Documentary video shows how The Witcher went from books to video games

Even the most dedicated fans of CD Projekt Red’s Witcher series of RPG’s may not be aware that, before the games, the iconic dark fantasy series began its life as a collection of novels penned by prolific Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Fortunately, a new YouTube documentary has arrived to help show how the series was adopted into an immersive game franchise.

The video, which is aptly titled “The Witcher’s video game history,” chronicles how CD Projekt Red first approached Sapkowski with the idea of making The Witcher book series into a video game, and the surprising number of trials and tribulations the studio faced in bringing that vision to life. Needless to say, the video’s near two-hour runtime ensures that there’s a lot of information to absorb, making it a must-watch for any fan of the series.
