Injustice 2’s Sub-Zero gets his own gameplay trailer

During a recent livestream event, NetherRealm Studios unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Injustice 2’s take on the iconic Mortal Kombat ice ninja Sub-Zero, who will be showing up in the DC fighting game sequel as both a guest fighter and the game’s second DLC character following the recently released Red Hood.

As you can see in the above trailer, Injustice 2’s version of the Lin Kui grandmaster will retain many of the same special moves and combos that he had in Mortal Kombat X, only, you know, without all the extra blood and bone-breaking. While Sub-Zero’s Injustice 2 super move is a lot tamer than the fatalities he was packing in Mortal Kombat X, it’s still pretty darn stylish, and Sub-Zero himself will surely fit right in among DC heavies like Batman and Superman. In fact, Sub-Zero’s victory animation is actually a clever nod to one of his more iconic (and violent) moves from the Mortal Kombat series, see if you can spot it.

Injustice 2’s Sub-Zero doesn’t yet have a release date, but the fact that NetherRealm released a gameplay trailer for him means he should be showing up at some point in the next few weeks. After Sub-Zero, the next DLC character will be Starfire, who will then be followed by six as-yet-revealed DLC roster additions.
