Middle-earth: Shadow of War Orc Tales trailer shows how each orc will be unique

Monolith’s upcoming sequel title Middle-earth: Shadow of War was drastically expand on the Nemesis and orc recruitment systems from its predecessor, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. In one of the game’s new trailers, viewers can see how players won’t just recruit and make enemies of different orcs, they’ll craft unique stories around each of them.

The trailer shows how different circumstances and conditions can lead to an orc either joining your side or pledging to hunt you down. For example, if you best an orc in combat but then decide to spare their life, they might pledge their loyalty to you out of gratitude. On the flip side of the coin, severely maiming an orc who had no prior reason to hate you might then instill in them an unending hatred for you because of your brutal tactics. As the end of the trailer proves, no two players will enter Shadow of War’s endgame in the exact same manner since they’ll each have their own unique groups of followers and antagonists.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will launch on October 10 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
